Sir Nicholas developed a leadership formula under the heading of CHISEL which forms the basis of his leadership courses and for which he draws on his own business and political experiences as well as using the example of historical and contemporary leaders.

His experience covers:

Political:
Member of Parliament
Chairman, Defence Select Committee 1992-95
Minister of State at the Foreign Office 1995-97 with specific responsibility for the departments dealing with drugs and terrorism, as well as the former Soviet Union, Central Europe and all the Americas and Canada.
Military:
Former TA Officer (Royal Buckinghamshire Yeomanry)
Defence Select Committee. As Chairman, his responsibilities involved, among many other areas, the monitoring of our involvement in former Yugoslavia.
As Minister of State in the Foreign Office, he had direct responsability for British Government policy regarding former Yougoslavia.
Currently Honorary Colonel 60 Signal Squadron (Royal Bucks Hussars)
